_Why are the North Gower and Manotick South destinations so popular with tourists in Canada?

The iconic red bus tours around Ottawa and the surrounding area are always a hit with tourists. If you take one of those you'll learn that North Gower is one of the most important destinations in Southern Ontario, along with other major attractions such as Parliament Hill or the Rideau Canal.

This small community has been built around a pretty little bay on the shores of Lake Deschenes, which also extends into two other municipalities: Kars and Fitzroy Harbour. There's plenty to do for families but it can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The Manotick South destination has lots to offer tourists visiting Canada. It features a General Store that was built in 1845 by Stanislas Drapeau. The building was declared an historical landmark in 1972 thanks to its heritage value. According to local history, Stanislas helped protect British soldiers during the War of 1812. The little general store also served as his home where he lived with his family, including eleven children! Today this interesting place houses several interesting artifacts from the past while serving up delicious ice cream treats for modern-day visitors. Children love going there to play on their playground while adults soak up some sun on a park bench.
